Week Four: Learning How to Edit

 


I spent today researching how to use adobe and these were my notes:

  • Start a New Project: Open Premiere and create a new project.
  • Import Your Clips: Drag video and audio files into Premiere.
  • Create a Sequence: Right-click a clip and choose "New Sequence from Clip."
  • Cut and Trim: Use the Razor Tool (C) to cut clips, and drag the edges to trim them.
  • Add Transitions: Drag transitions (like Cross Dissolve) between clips for smooth changes.
  • Add Text: Go to Essential Graphics > New Layer > Text, and type your title.
  • Add Music: Import your music and drag it to the timeline under video clips.
  • Color Grading: Go to the Lumetri Color panel for basic adjustments (brightness, contrast).

  • Export: Go to File > Export > Media, select H.264, and export your final video.

    Week 1: Character Analysis

           Daniel is a man who deeply values first impressions. He is typically wearing business casual outfits that radiate power but without trying too hard. He is an individual who is deeply egotistical and cares more about his public image than being a good husband to his wife. He works a 9-5 in the office and holds traditional family values especially when it comes to his role in the home and his wife's as a stay a home mom.      He is a curious man who believes that his actions are never wrong and was raised with the same family structure as a kid. He gets in drunken fits sometimes but he always makes sure to apologize to his wife with expensive gifts the next day, and that makes everything better.. right?     Week 1: Genre Research

                                                                      The opening scene of A Quiet Place (2018), directed by John Krasinski, was one of the most innovative horror movies of the century. The film sets itself apart from typical horror movies by relying on suspense and silence rather than gore and slashers. Despite our film opening not exactly being horror, building suspense is still incredibly important especially when displaying a domestic violence situation. I decided to watch this opening and take notes so that our opening could capture the audiences attention and make them worry for our protagonist.
